 Gene Stewart's Biography

Gene Stewart

Gene has worked in the Tri-State his entire 32-year broadcasting career. He's a native of Owensboro who graduated from Murray State University where he worked for the campus radio station.

He started his professional career at a small radio station in Webster County, Kentucky in the late 70's. He came to WKDQ in Evansville in 1979. After two years he moved on to other Evansville area radio newsrooms returning to WKDQ in 1990. You can now hear Gene on  WKDQ ,Superhits 105.3 and Newstalk 1280.

Gene has been involved with several other endeavors over the years, including teaching as adjunct faculty at both Henderson Community College and the University of Southern Indiana, serving as a board member and chapter chairman of the Cardinal Chapter of the American Red Cross in Henderson, and as a member of the Henderson Lions club where he's served as club president. He's also an active member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in Henderson.

Gene has been married to Diana of Providence, Kentucky for 29-years. They had one daughter, Lucretia, who has been deceased since 2001. Gene likes to take long walks, read, and eat, preferably something sweet! He also enjoys watching movies…his favorites are action flicks, especially James Bond!
